Lezing Bart Vanthuyne: Rotscirkelgrafvelden uit het vroege Oude Rijk in Midden Egypte
Sinds 2009 wordt een groot rotscirkelgrafveld uit het vroege Oude Rijk onderzocht door het Deir al-Barsja Project van de KU Leuven. Met behulp van satellietbeelden zijn twee andere soortgelijke en even grote grafvelden ontdekt en bleek de omvang van een vierde identiek grafveld eveneens veel groter te zijn dan aanvankelijk ge-dacht. De lezing zal een overzicht en interpretatie geven van de rots-cirkelgrafvelden in Midden Egypte. Tevens zullen enkele graven in detail besproken worden om een beter inzicht te krijgen in de graf-gewoonten van de doorsnee Egyptenaar in dit deel van Egypte.
